There are some great things happening around Washington State in the brain injury community that showcase awareness, support, resources and tools. With March being Brain Injury Awareness Month, the Brain Energy Support Team (BEST) is dedicated to bringing you news you can use around the state, for you to see what others are doing to send the message of awareness.
Today, we are heading over the mountains into Eastern Washington. Here are some snippets of some upcoming events.
TBI Survivors Network Development Project presents the 8th Annual Brain Injury Camping Experience, Brain Injury Camp 2015. See old friends and make some new ones at this terrific camp will be held from July 20 through July 26 at scenic North Skookum Lake. Find camping details and registration information here.
Hoopfest 2015 is touted as the best basketball weekend on earth. It’s definitely one of the biggest, with 6,905 teams, 27,750 players, 3,000 volunteers and 225,000 fans. And here’s the really cool part: there will be a Unified, Special Olympic teams and wheelchair division, making the game available for all to play and enjoy.
