I’ve been executive director for BEST through good times and difficult times. And as each year passes I am one year prouder of all that we do for our neurodiverse community. Be it brain injury, stroke, Autism, or, now, COVID we continue to embrace and support those who have shared their story, their time, their hopes, and their dreams with us.
2022 was a challenging yet rewarding year for BEST. We made new friends. strengthened bonds with friends we’ve held dear over the years. Our transition to online and remote connections with hundreds of individuals and families has proven a successful model for us. Thank you for your love and support.
2023 is filled with opportunity as we move forward with hope, appreciation, and determination.
Recently, a toast was made that resonated with me. It said, “you should live as long as you want to and want to as long as you live.” While it made me smile I felt the determination of those simple words, “want to as long as you live”, energized my spirit.
Sure, we can take it as a fun poke at desire, which may have been the intention. I heard encouragement to strive to be my best, do my best, and reach for the best in those words. BUT if it makes you smile then you’re off to a great start for the new year.
A New Year, A New Start, And A New Way To Go!
Happy New Year!
